Due to the fear of being judged and societal embarrassment around buying condoms, girls end up having unprotected sex leading to complications. Skyn is an initiative to debunk the stigma around condoms and encourage girls to take responsibility for their own bodies.
The design for the package drives away from the explicit imagery of major condom packaging. It lays empahsis on how condoms are nothing but a safety product and should be a part of every girl’s daily essentials once they are sexually active. It should not be something people are ashamed or are trying to hide away from.
The Skyn community is a platform on instagram that primarily targets 18-22 year olds. The platform aims to spread awareness about sexual health and resposnibility through people’s experiences, facts, conversations and debates about topics that aren’t comfortably addressed but should be known.
Breaking a stigma begins from the mind. Openly addressing uncomfortable topics only makes them normal overtime. Debunking this stigma can bring about major change in the number of teenage pregnancies that take place
