Ads for objects - Manasi Doshi Art Direction is about visual storytelling. An Art Director makes certain visual choices that help improve the viewer's engagement. Throughout the semester we broke down core messages, colour palettes and developed an understanding of the intended targeted audience. We used photography to visualise print ads in different emotional contexts, designed intriguing web experiences and made social media pages with found objects. The goal in every case was to understand how a brand connects with an audience and elevate their journey. To develop positive, negative and metaphorical ads around an object of our choice. I chose Masking Tape
Object Ad - Mayank Dabhi Use your photograph to create 3 social media posts (any size) In these contexts :
- Positive (features, aesthetic value, price etc.)
- Negative (as the competition/alternative to this object)
- Metaphorical (use the object as a visual metaphor) As an example, if you took a photo of your eyeglasses, you could have a glowingly positive post for the pair that you wear, a post for a competing product that uses your glasses as an example of what not to buy, and a post that uses the glasses as an example of the focus you need when selecting a mutual fund.
Social Media Page for an Object - Giles Augustine The brief of this assignment was to give a personality to an object that we use on a daily basis, and then create a social media presence that revolves around that personality. For my object, a Vacuum Cleaner, I created a personality of a person who dislikes all the human on human violence, because it’s thwarting his interests of getting rid of humans. He plans on creating a group of like minded cleaning objects, to help him take over the world
